The North East Wales branch of the Women’s Farming Union recently enjoyed a very well attended evening with Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Food, Fisheries and European Programmes, Alun Davies AM and Gary Haggaty, Head of the Welsh Government’s Farm Development Division.
The Deputy Minister’s speech on a range of issues of interest to the farming community was followed by a very lively question and answer session covering a range of topics. These included: TB in cattle and the Welsh Government’s plans for vaccination; Electronic Identification of sheep; reform of the Common Agriculture Policy; the promotion of quality food produced in Wales; training and support for young entrants to the industry and wider farm business support.
